Maria Socorro Silva's Bio

My name is Maria Socorro (DoCanto) Silva.

I was born in Fogo, Cabo Verde and immigrated to the USA in 1973. 
I attended Boston public schools and graduated Madison Park High in 1981.

I have a degree in Travel and Tourism from Newbury College and a degree in paralegal studies from Northeastern University. I worked in the travel industry for 5 years and I currently work as a paralegal for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I am married with two children and four grandchildren.

I love helping the less fortunate especially children and the elderly.

I've been sponsoring a child (now an adult with special needs) in CV for over 15 years. I also fostered two boys, one for five years and another for one year.

I've volunteered in schools, daycares, churches, Boston Election Dept. (Bilingual Poll worker)

I serve as a treasurer for the MPCVFF since its inception.
